An Elfster alternative with no account to make
Shuffleroo is a simpler alternative to Elfster. Elfster is a full gift exchange platform with apps, accounts, and wishlists you keep for years. Shuffleroo is one link: people tap their name and pull a name, with no account, no app, and no ads.
Free, with no ads and nothing to download.
How it works
Start a Shuffleroo. Name, gift limit, gift day. No account, just your email.
Paste one link in the group chat. Nobody makes an account.
Everyone pulls a name when they like. Nobody sees who got who.

Where they differ
Elfster does a lot. As of October 2026 it has apps to download, wishlists that keep links from any store, gift discovery, and anonymous questions to the person you got. Its help center says people need an Elfster account to RSVP. Its privacy policy says it works with advertising partners for interest-based ads.
Shuffleroo does less, on purpose. There is no account, no app, and no ads. People tap a link and tap their name. Wishes are a few taps and a note, kept with this one group. Gift ideas are written for you by AI, from your person’s wishes and the gift limit. You can ask your person a short question without saying who you are.
Both are free. Both let you set a gift limit and keep couples apart.
Why people pick Shuffleroo
- Nobody has to sign up. That matters most for older relatives and for the coworker who ignores every invite.
- Nothing to download. It works in the browser already on the phone.
- No ads and no tracking cookies.
- Nobody can see who got who. Not the host, and not us. Every match is encrypted.
- A pulled name never changes. Someone who joins late still gets a name, without a redo for everyone else.
When Elfster might suit you better
Pick Elfster if you want a wishlist that lasts from year to year, with links from any store. Pick it if your group wants an app to download, with notifications on the phone.
What Shuffleroo has
- Pairs who shouldn’t get each other, like couples.
- Plus-ones: a late joiner still gets a name, and the host covers them.
- “Approve new people”, so a forwarded link can’t add strangers.
- Reminder emails before gift day.
- An optional shipping address, seen only by the person who gets you.
- “Run it again next year”: same couples, and nobody gets the same person as last time when the rules allow it.
Questions
Is Shuffleroo free like Elfster?
Yes. Both are free to use. Shuffleroo also has no ads and no advertising cookies.
Do people need an account for Shuffleroo?
No. Guests tap the link and tap their name. The host gives an email, so they can get back in to the host page.
Can I move my Elfster group to Shuffleroo?
There is no import. Start a Shuffleroo and paste the new link in your group chat. Or paste a list of emails, and we send each person an invite.
Does Shuffleroo have wishlists?
It has wishes: tap a few things you’re into and add a note, with links if you like. They belong to one group. There is no wishlist that carries over between years.
Ready when you are. It takes a minute.
